Mumbai Eye Doctor: Preventing Argentinian Flag Sign

Mumbai Eye Doctor: Preventing Argentinian Flag Sign

Today while operating a case of very mature cataract albeit not a hypermature one i landed up with this deadly Argentinian Flag Sign. Luckily I was expecting it to happen and it was actually while trying to prevent it by means of aspirating the loose cortex through the Simcoe that i landed up with it. This happened because the irrigation on the Simcoe was turned on to its highest pressure filling up the bag and thus tearing apart the fragile anterior capsule. Luckily the situation was salvaged by making nicks with Vannus and completing the rhexis with Uttrata forceps. Here is a nice surgical technique on preventing this dangerous sign happening in your case. Do watch and use it ad lib in your cases. Thanks.
